Been a while

Well it has been a very full and packed few weeks and I have not gotten the time to update the blog.
First of all all our does have kidded and we had 5 kids. The first three we got off on a rocky start, but are doing very well now and lets just say are a handfull lol.

We are selling one of our bucklings as his mother had an excellent udder for a First Freshner and is giving us a lot of milk. She has a very nice high and wide attachment also. She is so easy to milk and her buckling is just turning out so very nice.

Next year I plan on doing a better job at keeping the blog updated on the kids as they arrive.

We had many watchers on our Kidding Cam and I want to thank you all very much for your phone calls and kidding alerts. They where all appreciated very much.

Now that Kidding season is over we are already getting excited about next year and have our plans in place already. So stay tuned to see whats coming next.

Padme Up first???

We are in the home stretch and Padme and Panda are at 142 Days today. Padme is now in the kidding pen as she has the large udder and is also the one that has been nesting, or is it digging to Chine lol. We will watch Panda as well but currently she is showing no signs, no udder at all still. She will be moved to the Kidding pen however if she looks to be closer than Padme. You can see our Kidding Cam on our website www.justkiddingfarms.com and if you see anything going on and I have not updated the camera status then please call me and let me know 806-681-7223

Finally got our Goat Milk Soap up on the site for sale. Check it out. We have some really cool ones and I have been using them and can not get over how wonderful they make my skin feel, and it is great being able to use something that i know does not contain harsh chemicals or preservatives. Here are some pictures of the soaps:

Kidding Just Around The Corner

Well Padme and Panda are due on April 25 so yesterday I brought them into the barn and trimmed their feet, checked bellies and udders and gave lots of love and treats. Padme is impressing me with this very nice udder so early on. I can not wait until she is able to have a good fill. It looks like it will have a nice high and wide attachment, but I will know more as she fills more. Also I was able to feel a lot of movement from those kiddos on Padmes right side. Sure hope she has more than one in there or that will be one crazy active kid.

Panda on the other hand does not have as much of an udder as Padme, she is due the same day but her belly is a lot smaller and her udder is just almost non existant right now. I hope she has more fill the closer to kidding she gets. I am thinking a single for her still, but she is a longer bodied doe so there is more room for those kids to hide. Time will tell with her.

Posha is a week behind the other two girls and wow she has been HUGE from day one. I swear she either has a monster in there or triplets lol. She does have a pretty good udder started, but nothing like Padme, at least not yet. I did not feel any movement but I did not feel for long as I was needing to get on to other chores. I will try next week to feel for movement on her again.

Kids will be starting to hit the ground around here in just a couple of weeks. We are very excited and can't wait to see the little cuties.

Headliner Is Home

Well we finally have Headliner home with us. And he is such a sweetie pie. I am so excited to see his kids we get next year. We did get to see some of his kids at Rancho-Snowfall where we picked him up, and they where very flashy and just beautiful kids. They all had very outgoing and friendly playful dispositions. I think we picked a winner for sure with him.

Udderly Addicting

Well Posha started to develop an udder a couple of days ago. Its now large enough to see it from behind her as she walks. She is as cute as can be with her huge belly and her cute little wattle when she walks. Also I did finally feel kid movement on Padme the other day.

Padme is starting to look big now, but Panda still small and still no udder develpment at all. Panda did have an amber thick sticky discharge about a week ago and still does.

We have plans to go pick up Headliner this weekend so are very excited about that. I will post pictures of him when we get back with details of the trip.
